Obituary of Elizabeth Carlton
CARLTON - ELIZABETH CARLTON gracefully and with outstanding dignity has gone to her glory. Peacefully at her residence on Thursday, March 1, 2007 surrounded by her loved ones at age 73. Predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, John. Dear mother of Michael & his wife wife Pat, Robert & his wife Kate, all of Sarnia, Thomas & his wife Rose, Glasgow, Scotland and Carol Marie Carlton, Sarnia. Loving grandmother of Anthony, Lynsey, Ashley, Samantha, Alaina, Johanna, Benett, Johnathan and Debbie. Predeceased by sons James and John Jr., parents Lizzie and Michael McEwan and brother Michael McEwan. Elizabeth came to Canada from Glasgow, Scotland in 1966. All of Betty's extended family will fondly remember her for years of dedication to all the organizations she selflessly volunteered her time to. She has been a good friend of Bill W. for 25 years. On behalf of Elizabeth, the family would like to thank Dr.'s Gannon, Cornellia and Maddison, her V.O.N. nurses Elke, Deb and Deb, Fr. Wes Gutowski and Gary and Jeanette her eucharistic ministers and the staff of Hogan Pharmacy, London Rd. for all their care. Now instead of walking beside us as a mother, grandmother, auntie and friend we know your prayers for all of us will continue to go on as you guide us from above. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia. Prayers will be offered at 7 p.m. Sunday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Wes Gutowski on Monday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church. Cremation to follow. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the charity of their choice.
