Obituary of Madonna Vigar
VIGAR - MADONNA (DONNA) ISOBEL VIGAR (McBurney) was freed from the grip of cancer July 8, 2007 in Sarnia, ON. Donna now joins her husband Norm, her parents John and Kate McBurney, her sisters Audrey (Garner), Ruth (Layman), and Marie (McIntosh) in a better place. Donna is the mother of David and his wife Cheryl. Loving grandmother of Ryan, Aaron and Meaghan. She was also best "buds" with Brandy and Emma. Donna is also survived by her brothers Alex McBurney (Ivy), London, Doug McBurney (Elsie), Ottawa and her sisters Margie Armstrong (Bill), Verschoyle and Joyce Fraser (Bill), Columbus, Mississippi. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Mom provided great support for Dad and helped ease the transition that followed Dad's many moves with the Co-Operators during his career (Woodstock, London, Peterborough and Guelph). Mom was an active curler for many years playing at clubs across Ontario. Until her illness she was involved in a number of social groups in London where she made many friends. Mom would like to express her great appreciation to all her relatives and many friends who called, sent cards and flowers during her illness. She was overjoyed with your support and love. In keeping with Donna's wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place and a private family remembrance will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 344-3131. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the charity of your choice or simply pat the head of the next dog you see because there never was a mutt that Mom didn't like. Messages of condolence & memories may be left at www.mckenzieblundy.com
A tree has been planted in memory of Donna Vigar in the McKenzie & Blundy Memorial Forest.
