Obituary of Ethel Turner
TURNER, Ethel, (nee Short) - 94, peacefully at Sarnia General Hospital on Wednesday, Oct. 31 of natural causes. Her dry, acerbic humour held to the last day, to which nurses and patients on the 2nd floor east wing will attest. A very independent spirit, she was making plans to return to her London Road home of 60 years when she took a quick turn for the worse on Tuesday. Predeceased by husband Ted, daughter and best friend Susan, and son Jim, Survived by son Dan, daughter-in-law (and next-best friend) Gayle, grandchildren Kiley, Dylan, Jackie and Chad, and great- granddaughter Eva. Donations may be made to the Sarnia Humane Society or Central United Church, where she found great spiritual sustenance and friendship, especially over the past year. Memorial service at Central United Church, Tuesday, November 6th, 2007 at 11:00 a.m.
A tree will be planted in memory of Ethel Turner in the McKenzie & Blundy Memorial Forest. Dedication service Sunday, September 21, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wawanosh Wetlands Conservation Area.
