Obituary of Georgette Marie Morneau
MORNEAU, Georgette – Suddenly at Bluewater Health – Mitton Site on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at the age of 80. Dear sister of Sr. Marie Pauline Morneau, S.S.S., Andrea Corriveau, Monique Morneau, Raymonde Cloutier, Denise Morneau, Albert (Nicole De La Chevrotiere) Morneau, Jeanne Levesque, Henri (Jeanine Menard) Morneau, Nicole Tremblay, Guy (Louisette Bureau) Morneau and Daniel (Florence Carrier) Morneau. Also surviving are special family Phuong & Gerry Moore, Dat Dao, Cong & Hai Dao, Hung Dao and Quang Dao as well as several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Adelard & Regina Morneau, brother Gaston Morneau and sisters Laurette Vachon and Jean Morneau. Georgette was a long time member of the Catholic Women’s League, the Franciscan Order and Captain for the Cappucin Retreat in Washington, Michigan. Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Friday from 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated by Fr. Jim Higgins and Fr. Matthew Bedard at St. Benedict’s Church on Saturday at 10 a.m. Following the mass, Georgette will be taken to Quebec City for interment in the family plot in St. Charles Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to St. Benedict’s Church, 1011 Oak Ave., Sarnia, N7S 1J4 or to the charity of your choice. A tree will be planted in memory of Georgette Morneau in the McKenzie & Blundy Memorial Forest. Dedication service Sunday, September 19th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wawanosh Wetlands Conservation Area.
