Obituary of Margaret Amelia Bindner-Blanchfield
BINDNER-BLANCHFIELD, Margaret Amelia – Surrounded by her family at Bluewater Health, Sarnia on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, Margaret Bindner-Blanchfield died at the age of 95. Beloved wife of the late Richard Blanchfield and the late George Bindner. Loving mother of Michelle Rondeau, Sarnia, Janine Zugec-Slupeiks, Ottawa and Anita Bouffard, Sarnia. Cherished grandmother of Michael (Leslie), David (Dee), John (Jacqui), Adam (Lyndsey), Sherida (Adam), Joey (John), Chris (Ingrid) and Kristine. Dear great-grandmother of 14. Predeceased by parents Richard & Margaret Burridge, brother Richard "Tony" Burridge and his wife Elizabeth (Vi), son-in-law Joe Bouffard and granddaughter Dana. Margaret was a long time parishioner of St. Benedict's Church and a member of the Catholic Women's League. She worked for St.-Vincent de Paul Society and volunteered in the Palliative Care & Pastoral Care at St. Joseph's Hospital for many years. She loved to travel and enjoyed watching baseball. Margaret was a giving woman whose passion was her family. She will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by all those whose lives she touched. Friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia on Monday, April 14th, from 3-7 p.m. Rosary will be offered at 3 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. John Comiskey at St. Benedict's Church on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow with interment at a later date at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.
