Obituary of Maria H.P. Helle

HELLE, Maria "Mia" – Peacefully surrounded by her family at Bluewater Health on Saturday March 15, 2014. Maria died at the age of 74. Beloved wife of John for 52 years. Dear mother of Carol (Kevin) Beattie, Barbara (Wayne) McNair and Chris Helle all of Sarnia. Loving Oma of Ciara O'Hanlon, Katelyn Beattie, John and Jake McNair. Sister of Betty (late Peter) Parker, London, Willi (Gary) Beckers-Locke, Sarnia, Toni (Pat) O'Brien, Fredericton, N.B. and Paul (Rosemary) Beckers, Bath, N.B. Predeceased by parents Alex & Marie Beckers. Mia led a full life. For 40 years was a member of Sacred Heart Church. Mia fondly remembers the days she worked on the 5th floor of St. Joseph's Hospital. She enjoyed being part of the new life. Always a nurse it pained her to be a patient in the end. She loved to play cards with family and friends, but most of all Mia loved her family, insisting on hosting all holidays and family get-togethers. To set the table with her china and most of all it required a centerpiece of flowers from her garden. Mia will be missed by all. The family would like to thank all the compassionate staff on the 4th and 5th floors at Bluewater Health. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Vince Gulikers at Sacred Heart Church on Saturday March 22, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. The family will receive friends in the parish hall following the interment.
