Obituary of Corenne Bettridge
BETTRIDGE, (WALLACE) D. CORENNE - At Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario, on November 5th, 2013, Corenne in her 64th year, passed away peacefully with her husband and children at her side. Beloved wife of Robert John (Bob) Bettridge. Amazing mother of Ryan Bettridge (Amanda), Rachel Bettridge (with Mom), Erica Groves (Skylar) and Jonathan Bettridge (Laura). Phenomenal Granny to her 2 grandsons, Nolan Bettridge and Jackson Groves. Daughter of the late Douglas C. Wallace and Doriene (Maddeaux) Wallace. Dear sister of Lynn Brooks (with Corenne), Douglas A. Wallace and Patricia Smith (Robert). Dear sister-in-law of Jerry Bettridge (Jacqueline), Betty Ann McMullen (Bill), Jim Bettridge, Mike Bettridge (Lucy) and Cynthia Bettridge. She will be greatly missed by her many loving nieces and nephews. Corenne was born on March 14, 1949 in Niagara Falls Ontario. During her years she also lived in Arizona, London, Ontario (where she met Robert), and Sarnia, Ontario where they made their home. Corenne married Robert, the love of her life, in 1970. In the years that followed they had four beautiful children who she devoted her life to. Aside from being a full- time mother, Corenne was always heavily involved with her children's schooling and activities. This included being on the Cathcart Public School P.T.A., countless drives to and from practices and planning both small and large events. During these years she met many of her closest friends who were of the utmost importance in her life. As her children grew up she had more time to devote to things she felt passionate about. Corenne generously gave her time to many charitable organizations such as the IODE, St. Joseph's Hospital Gift Shop and the Trillium Villa Retirement Home. She also enjoyed long walks and talks with her friends and family members. Gardening became a favourite pastime of Corenne and she took great pride in making the outside of her home look beautiful. Corenne would always listen, help, talk to, console, support, cheer up and do anything she possibly could for everyone that she loved. The world is a better place because of her. Cremation has taken place. It was Corenne's wish to have a Celebration of Life which will be held on Saturday, November 9 at the Best Western Guildwood Inn, 1400 Venetian Blvd., Sarnia from 2pm to 5pm.
