Obituary of Lorene Mullen

MULLEN, MARY LORENE (nee BLUNDY) – Shortly after celebrating her 90th birthday, Mary Lorene Mullen died peacefully surrounded by her family at Marshall Gowland Manor on Sunday, September 15, 2013. Beloved wife of the late Patrick James Mullen (2007) Cherished mother of Jack & his wife Debbie, Courtright, Jerry & his wife Nora, Courtright, Sharon Dearing & her husband Robert, Point Edward and Marie Taylor & her husband Mark, Courtright. Dedicated loving grandmother to Ann Marie (Kevin), Richie (Esther), Mike, Chantelle, Jeff (Stacey), Mike (Vanna), Krista (Joel), Shannon, Lindsay (Jeremy), Lesley (Ken), Matt (Megan), Danielle and Jesse. Proud great grandmother to Brandon (Justine), Austin, Ashlynn, Brooke, Drew and Jake. Also survived by many nieces and nephews on Blundy and Mullen sides. Lorene was born in Sarnia, August 18th, 1923, to the late Joseph Blundy (1938) and Marjorie Blundy (McKeever) (1970). After graduating from St. Patrick's High School in 1942, Lorene worked at Autolite in Pt. Edward until her marriage to Patrick. First settling on the Mullen farm on the 2nd line of Moore Township, they moved to Sarnia in 1970 and spent many winters in Ruskin, Florida. Lorene was a 60 year member of the Catholic Women's League. Friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431. N. Christina St., Sarnia on Tuesday, September 17th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m where prayers will be offered at 3 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Raju Allumpurath at St. Benedict's Church on Wednesday Sept. 18th, at 11 a.m. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery, Corunna.
