Obituary of Kathryn Jane Fischer
FISCHER, KATHRYN JANE – At Trillium Villa Nursing Home, Kathryn Jane Fischer entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at the age of 96. She was born October 11, 1916 in St. Clair, Michigan. Kathryn was married to Bud Fischer who died January 11, 1980. Mrs. Fischer was a file clerk at Smith's Freight Co. for over 25 years. Survived by her sister-in-law Donna Zimmer, St. Clair, MI., and nephew James Bark, Port Huron. Also survived by several great nieces and nephews in St. Clair and Port Huron. Kathryn will be missed by her best friend Joan Butler, dear friends Marcella and Donna and her good friends at Governor House East. Predeceased by her parents William J. Zimmer and Margaret A. (Hartman) Zimmer, brothers William and Richard Zimmer, sisters Evelyn VanBuskirk and Phyllis Bark and nephews Melvin Bark Jr. and Ronald Bark. Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia on Monday, August 26th from 9–10 a.m. The funeral service will be held in the McKenzie & Blundy Chapel on Monday, August 26th immediately following visitation at 10 a.m. officiated by Fr. Raju Allumpurath. Cremation to follow. A private entombment will take place at a later date at Our Lady of Mercy Mausoleum. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation, 774 London Rd., Sarnia, N7T 4Y1.
