Obituary of John MacDonald
JOHN MacDONALD July 22 1974 - Dec. 17 2014 It is with heavy hearts and a mind full of memories that the family and friends of John "JohnBoy" MacDonald announce that Johns long well fought battle with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis - Lou Gehrig's) has ended. On Wednesday December 17th at Bluewater Health Sarnia under the care of Dr. Maddison, John only 40 years old, was surrounded by his family as he peacefully left our world to become free of his paralyzed body in which he was trapped. John MacDonald and his loving wife Tammy (Caley) of 16 years with their daughters Bobbi-Jacklyn, Megan and Allison all at home, never let ALS intimidate them and embraced their challenges making simple moments into long lasting memories. John lived his life freely and meticulously in all that he did, leaving a story to cherish for whom ever was blessed to share in his company. John was the only son of Mrs. Carol (Wrigley) Ralph, London (Reg. 2013) and Jack MacDonald (Terry), Alvinston. Brother to Tamra MacDonald (David) of Elliott Lake, Aaron (Cassandra), Allan (Jessica) and Justin Ralph. Nephew to Judith MacDonald, Son -in Law Connie Caley (Hank) and brother in law to Bill Caley (Nancy). Very special Uncle to Tia, Bryce, Laci, Carter and Bryan. John was a proud member of the Sarnia Millwright Union Local 1592, enjoyed the companionship of his Co-Workers of Precisions Concept Group, was a dedicated Volunteer Fire Fighter for 9 years until he could walk no longer with the Alvinston Fire Department. The Community of Brooke Alvinston will forever mourn the loss of Johns quick wit and spontaneous humor, whether it be at the arena while he proudly watched as his daughters skate, at the RCL as a member of Br. 249, on the snowmobile trails, playing cards or shooting balls (billiards) or at home and his favorite pastime - TV. Watching Tony Stewart on the track, the Leafs on the ice and the Denver Broncos win their way to another chance at the super bowl. Johns friendship and wise one liners, will be etched into our memories forever, as solid as the many welds he has welded all over the SW Ontario area. John had much consideration for the upcoming holiday season, and respecting John's specific requests a Celebration of his Life for his Family and Special Friends will be carried out at a later date. In Lieu of flowers or those wishing to make a donation, are asked to consider contributing to a Trust Fund opened for John's Daughters @BMO Alvinston Branch , or at walkforals.ca, London; in memory of John for his Team "Dedicated 2 JohnBoy".
