Obituary of Donald Charles Chamberlain
CHAMBERLAIN, Donald Charles – Passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at the age of 73 surrounded by his loving family after a 10 year battle with cancer. Born in St. John, NB, son of Charlie and Lydia Chamberlain. Brother to Tudie, Muriel, Anne Marie, David and Barry. He leaves behind his loving wife of 50 years, Joan, eldest son Derrick, daughter-in-law Tina and grandsons Brent and Mark of Sarnia, daughter Brenda, son-in-law Roger and granddaughters Savanah and Brandi of London and his youngest son Darren, the Bud. Truly, truly a family man, that was his life, family. He was a very respected and successful radio broadcaster around the country for more than 30 years, the latest properties with stations in London & Sarnia. Following his retirement from the broadcast industry, he ventured into the world of fast food with 2 popular and successful A&W Restaurant locations in Sarnia. He mastered the art of the car shows on Sundays with the local “Show & Shine” and a template used around the country today. He was a master at creating the “Show” and loved every minute of it! On top of it all, he thoroughly appreciated fishing and relaxing on his own boat, and his true passion shone through with the London Boat Show, marking 2013 as 30 years in business. Truly an entrepreneur! Whenever you asked him a question, his answer was always “Absolutely!” Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia, on TUESDAY, JANUARY 29, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where prayers will be offered at 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Church (Bright’s Grove) on THURSDAY, JANUARY 31, 2013 at 11 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, 714 Lite St. Point Edward, N7V 1A6.
