Obituary of David John Carrick Hope

HOPE, David John Carrick – At Bluewater Health Palliative Care on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Winnifred (Cunningham). Dear father of Patricia (Alan) Shepard, Mississauga and David (Sara) Hope, Vanessa, ON. Loving grandfather of Cara Shepard and Joshua Southcott. Great-grandfather of Jessica and Madison Southcott. Brother of Gordon (Shirley) Hope, Toronto. Brother-in-law of Annie Hope, Sarnia and Lillian Linn, London. Predeceased by parents James & Isabella Hope, granddaughter Trinity Hope and brother James Hope. David worked as a Research Technician at Imperial Oil for 34 years retiring in 1982. He served with the Scots Guards from 1944-1948. He was involved with the Boy Scouts of Canada for over 40 years and was a member of the Sarnia Branch of the Canadian Power Squadron and the Sarnia Yacht Club. Visitation at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Monday, February 16, 2015 from 1 – 1:45 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Chapel immediately following at 2 p.m. Interment will be held at a later date.
