Obituary of Robert "Bob" Gordon Gibb
GIBB, Robert “Bob” Gordon – March 13, 1927 – November 8, 2012 – A long time Sarnia resident, passed away on November 8th at St. Joseph’s Hospice in Sarnia. He was the only son of the late Gordon and Pauline (nee Wadsworth) Gibb. Bob is survived by his wife of 64 years, his dearly loved “Wifey” Joanne (nee Brown). Bob was the owner and manager of Mid-Town Motors. He later joined the firm of Guilfoyle-Barrons Real Estate Ltd., and finished his successful business career at Wm. Dennis Real Estate. He was a lifetime, valued member of the Sarnia Lions Club. In his younger years, Bob played ball with the Corunna Giants. In his later years, he loved playing cards with old friends. Bob earned his amateur pilot’s license and happily took to the air in his plane “Beulah”. He was well known at the R.C.A.F. (the Reece’s Corners Air Force) and was thrilled to be interviewed for the Macchiavello and Listhaeghe book, Petrolia Flyboys. “Dad” will be dearly remembered by his three children, Wendy Gibb, Rob (Sue) Gibb and Terry (Randy) Collins. He is the beloved “Gramps” of Robby (Cindy and Ava), Jeff (Nikki) and Carley Gibb and Chris (Shawnacey) and Stacey (Chris) Collins. He will be dearly missed by his in-laws Jim and Doris Brown, and Ruth Brown. He was predeceased by his brothers-in-law, Bill and Terry Brown. Bob was the very special uncle of Susan (Peter) Pearson, Mary-Anne (George) Bracewell, Ruthie (John) Mattingley, Michael (Kathy) and Ric Brown and their families. Bob was a wonderful husband, a terrific father and grandfather and a great friend to all who knew him.
