Obituary of Catherine Helen Campbell
CAMPBELL, Catherine "Kay" Helen - Surrounded by her family at Vision Nursing Home, Catherine "Kay" Campbell passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Stanley Campbell (2013). Loving mother of Brian "Nipper" Campbell, Denise Kohlmeier & husband Jace, Sarnia, Carol Wolfer & husband Craig, Peterborough and Greg Campbell & wife Samantha, Clearwater Beach, Florida. Cherished grandmother of Amy, Alyson & Kristin Kohlmeier, Ryan, Kyle & Geoff Wolfer. Dear sister of Rita Parsons. Sister-in-law of Norma O'Brien and Doris Yeates McKellar. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Predeceased by her parents Matthew & Nora O'Brien and siblings; Margaret & Leo Starr, Noreen & Ed MacDonald, Tom Parsons, Patrick O'Brien, Mary & Cal Duchene and baby sister Marie Theresa. Also predeceased by in-laws: Frank & Minnie Campbell, Phyllis & Don Baird and Walt Yeates. Kay had many fond memories of growing up on Napier Street, working at the Royal Bank and SOS Services. She and Stan volunteered with Meals on Wheels and supported many local charities and events. Kay spent many hours with the CWL, Sacred Heart Bible Study Group, Goodlife Fitness, and her beloved Bridge Club. Kay had a strong devotion to her faith and church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Kay enjoyed biking and walking through beautiful Canatara Park and under the Bluewater Bridge with the love of her life, Stan. Her children and her grandchildren were her greatest treasures. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all those who knew and loved her. Many thanks to the devoted and caring staffs of Bluewater Health, Residence on the St. Clair, Rosewood, and Vision Nursing Home. Special thanks to Dr. Rex Garrett and Kaye and Dr. Liam Gannon and the compassionate staff of Superior Wing, 2nd floor, Vision Nursing Home. Visitation will be at McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia, 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, December 7th where prayers will be offered at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Vince Gulikers at Sacred Heart Church on Monday, December 8th at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to Alzheimer's Society or the Breast Cancer Society, both at 420 East St. N., Sarnia, N7T 6Y7 (cheques only at the funeral home please).
