Obituary of Chester Figas
FIGAS, Chester - Chester passed away at his home in Sarnia, at the age of 60, on November 4th, 2014. Dear father of Jessica (Bryan) and Matthew. Beloved brother-in-law of Jacqueline (née Millier) and uncle to Carolyn and Stephanie, of Mississauga. Also survived by his aunt and uncle Hedy and Cass Dyderski and cousins Sue and Gerry Kimball and family, Mitchell Dyderski and family, Mark Dyderski and his wife Jen, Raymond and Mary Zuk and family, Bob Zuk and the late Richard Dyderski (2001) of Michigan. He was predeceased by his parents Jan (2000) and Irene (1995), and his brother, Larry (2013). After graduating from St. Clair Secondary School, Chester began a successful career as an API Inspector and Consultant with several different inspection services (Chemical Valley Inspection Services, Quantum Inspection Services, World Stress Industries) before he was hired on full time at Imperial Oil (Exxon/Mobil Canada) in 1981, where he became a Senior Inspector. After retiring from Imperial Oil in 2004, Chester began his own company, CJF Consulting and Inspection and continued to work as a contractor at several different companies around the world, including Sarnia, Fort McMurray, Texas, and Saudi Arabia. He truly loved his job and working in his field, as he was always happy to meet new challenges and stay highly active, busy from sun up to sun down. Chester loved to travel and had visited many different places, but his favorite destination was Australia. When he was not working, or riding his motorcycle, he enjoyed working on cars and trucks in his garage along with his son, Matthew.
