Obituary of William Charles Blake
BLAKE, WILLIAM CHARLES “BILL’ – At Bluewater Health – Palliative Care on Monday, November 24, 2008 at the age of 80. Beloved husband of Sylvia (O’Donnell) for 51 years. Dear father of Ron, Toronto, Shelley & her husband Doug Pullman, Watford, Dan (Maxine), Victoria, B.C., Kevin (Brenda), Point Edward and Tim (Maniya),Vancouver. Loving grandfather of Sarah. Step-grandfather of Amanda, Kayli, Chelsea and Dylan. Great-grandfather of Shey-Lynn. Step great-grandfather of Emma. Brother of Dolly Phibbs & her husband Joe, Petrolia and Florence Minielly & her husband Ivan, Forest. Brother-in-law of Elaine Blake, Sarnia, Bob Campbell, Wyoming, Cathy Blake, Wyoming, Ruth (Jack) Houlahan, Sarnia, John (Betty) O’Donnell, Edmonton and Jim (Bonnie) O’Donnell, California. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Edward & Doris (Beauchamp) Blake, brothers Jack and Brad, sisters Frances Murray (Bill) and Donna Campbell and father and mother-in-law Murray & Harriett (Willette) O’Donnell. Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where prayers will be offered at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Jim Higgins at St. Benedict’s Church on Saturday at 11 a.m. Interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 415 Exmouth St., Sarnia, N7T 8A4 or the Canadian Cancer Society, 714 Lite St., Point Edward, N7V 1A6.
A tree will be planted in memory of William Blake in the McKenzie & Blundy Memorial Forest. Dedication service Sunday, September 20th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wawanosh Wetlands Conservation Area.
