Obituary of Gladys Margaret Elizabeth Legacy
LEGACY – Gladys Margaret Elizabeth (Dennis) (nee Vanderburg) – After 86 years of love and laughter, mom passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on January 7, 2009 at Marshall Gowland Manor. Beloved wife of the late Graham Dennis and Edgar Legacy. Much loved mother of Darlene Berry & husband Vaughn, Camlachie, Wayne Dennis & wife Mary-Jane, Forest, Lisa McShea & husband Steven, Sarnia. Cherished grandmother of Leeann Berry-Trapani & husband Paul, Dennis Berry & wife Michele, Derek Dennis & wife Alyssa, Jordan Dennis & wife Shannon, Myles McShea and Lexi McShea. Dear great grandmother of Mackenzie & Jackson Berry, Cash Dennis and Carter Dennis. Much loved sister of Dolores Dagg & husband Ron, Annabell McClung & husband Ian and Elouise Dennis & husband Bill. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends and her extended Legacy family. Predeceased by parents Roy & Reta Vanderburg and brothers Ken, Lloyd & Lyle Vanderburg. Gladys was a beautiful woman not only on the outside but on the inside as well. Gladys’ family was her primary focus and is her legacy along with the incredible meals she prepared over the years. Gladys was a life long member of Central Baptist Church and the Central Baptist Women’s League and a member of the Grace Kenyan Mission Circle. Gladys will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by all who loved and knew her. Our family would like to give much thanks to all of the staff at Marshall Gowland Manor for their exceptional care and compassion. Friends and family will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina Street, Sarnia on Sunday, January 11th from 1-4 p.m. The Funeral service will be held at Central Baptist Church (London Rd.), Sarnia on Monday at 10:30 a.m. and will be officiated by Rev. Craig Rumble. Interment to follow at Lakeview Cemetery. A tree will be planted in memory of Gladys Legacy in the McKenzie & Blundy Memorial Forest. Dedication service Sunday, September 20th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wawanosh Wetlands Conservation Area.
