Obituary of Corneilous Thomas
THOMAS, Corneilous “Neily” – Peacefully at Bluewater Health – Norman Site on Tuesday, June 9, 2009, Corneilous “Neily” Thomas passed away in his 86th year. Beloved husband of the late Lillian Thomas (February 28, 2006). Predeceased by 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Neily was born in Paisley, Scotland in 1924 and came to Canada in 1950. He worked as a boilermaker Local #128, Ironworker Local #700 and as welding inspector until he retired in 1990. Neily was a WWII veteran as well as a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 62, Sarnia. Neily will be missed by special friends Bob & Sally Ferguson of Corunna, Jim & Marcella Bryce of Vancouver, B.C., and Bill & Carol Muir of Point Edward. Neily will also be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews in Scotland and U.S.A. Cremation has taken place. A special memorial service will be held for Neily at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 519-344-3131. A tree will be planted in memory of Neily Thomas in the McKenzie & Blundy Memorial Forest. Dedication service Sunday, September 20th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wawanosh Wetlands Conservation Area.
