Obituary of Eileen Margaret Barry
BARRY, Eileen Margaret – Peacefully at Vision Nursing Home on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at the age of 85. Beloved wife of the late Cecil. Dear mother of Ken & his wife Jane, California, Robert & his wife Margaret, Komoka, John & his wife Jan, London, Michael & his wife Susan, Sarnia, Maureen Weiler & her husband Gary, London, Donna Laur & her husband Robert, Sarnia and Joann Coady, Sarnia. Mother-in-law of David Welter, Sarnia. Loving grandmother of 25 and great-grandmother of 7. Sister of Patricia Britton, Sarnia and Anna Jordan, Sarnia. Predeceased by son Kevin Barry, daughter Suzanne Welter, brothers James, Robert and Joe Curry and sister Mary Cote. Eileen was one of the first nurses hired at St. Joseph’s Hospital and dedicated 30 years to her chosen career. Her way of putting back into the community included volunteering with the Children’s Aid Society, the Inn of the Good Shepherd and the Catholic Women’s League. She received a 50 year service pin from St. Joseph’s Hospital recognizing her dedication to volunteering there. Visitation at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Matthew Bedard at St. Joseph’s Church on Monday at 10 a.m. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, Sarnia Lambton Chapter, 155 N. A tree will be planted in memory of Eileen Barry in the McKenzie & Blundy Memorial Forest. Dedication service Sunday, September 19th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wawanosh Wetlands Conservation Area.
