Obituary of Anne Marie Cameron

CAMERON, Anne Marie – It is with heavy hearts that the family of Anne Marie Cameron announce her death. Anne passed into eternity on Friday, October 23, 2009 in London, Ontario. She was supported by the comfort of her loving family and her close friends, members of the Sisters of St. Joseph. Anne was the beloved daughter of the late Edith Bridget (Duffy) Cameron (1998) and John (Jack) Cameron (1963). Anne will be greatly missed by her brother Terence (Terry) Cameron and her sister-in-law Loretto Cameron of Sarnia. She was a cherished aunt to Scott Cameron and his wife Valerie of Barrie, Ontario, Anastasia (Stacy) Romanchuk and her husband Lincoln of Midland, Michigan and Alexis (Lexi) Cylwa of Vancouver, British Columbia. Anne was a devoted great aunt to Emerson Romanchuk, Isabel and Malcolm Cameron and Quinn Cylwa. She always had time to listen to their stories and to read to them from the many books she gave them as gifts. Anne was a graduate of St. Patrick High School in Sarnia and in 1953 she entered the community of the Sisters of St. Joseph at Mount St. Joseph in London, Ontario. During the time she was in community she taught in numerous schools within the London Diocese including Catholic Central and Mount St. Joseph high schools in London. After returning to Sarnia in 1974 she was employed by the Lambton County Roman Catholic Separate School Board and taught at St. Michael and Sacred Heart schools until her retirement in 1993. Anne’s teaching career spanned over 34 years during which time she taught in Windsor, St. Thomas, London, Bright’s Grove and Sarnia. Anne was a graduate of the University of Windsor. She was an active member of Sacred Heart parish and worked on committees within the church community. She was a member of the Retired Teachers of Ontario. At Anne’s request there will be no visitation. She has chosen to be cremated with interment at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery in the grave of her mother and father. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church at a future date. Anne was a great friend to many and her concern for others as well as her kindness to those in need will be remembered by all those whose lives she touched. The Cameron family would like to thank the sisters of St. Joseph for their love, care and kindness during Anne’s final journey. We wish to thank Mary Wellman and Irene Donohue for their love and caring support throughout her illness. To all the many people who kept in touch throughout her battle with cancer with prayers, visits, cards and calls we extend our gratitude.
