Dear Hilda, Wayne, Ian, Brian and family. Your husband, and Dad, John was such a part of my life growing up. Hilda and John...were everyday words in our house. Hilda and John were always our family friends! whether we lived on Alexander Ave, Oak Street or McGregor Road, Seeing them and all of you meant fun and excitement. We were together for suppers at each others homes; we went on picnics at Canatara Park; we shared Christmas celebrations and Polymer Kids' Christmas Parties; as Kids we went to the Bashams' house to trick or treat. John and Hilda even took me as a child, along with Wayne to Washington, D.C. one year! John and I were both born in July-- John on July 13 and me on July 14. We liked that similarity a lot! When I think of John, I think of a smart, kind and helpful man, a great husband for Hilda, and a good, good father for his boys. John Basham made an imprint on my early family life and he will be truly missed.
