Obituary of Rita Parsons

PARSONS, Frances "Rita" (nee O'Brien) - Peacefully surrounded by her family at Vision Nursing Home, Rita Parsons died on October 5th, 2015 at the age of 93. Beloved wife of the late Thomas Parsons (2005). Loving mother of Janice Brown & her husband Rob, Corunna, Karen Blodgett & her husband Wayne, Newcastle and Ted Parsons & his wife Nichola, Bright's Grove. Cherished grandmother of Stephen, Jenna, Taylor, Samantha, Travis and C.J. Dear sister-in-law of Norma O'Brien, Sarnia. Predeceased by her parents Matthew & Nora O'Brien, sisters; Noreen MacDonald, Mary McCormick-Duchene, Mary Therese O'Brien, Kay Campbell, Margaret Starr and brother Pat O'Brien. Rita's passion was her family and her church. She was a devoted Catholic and a lifetime member of Our Lady of Mercy Church. Rita loved to bowl, golf and play bridge. She was a member of the Bell Group, Esso Annuitant's and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 6th from 6-9 p.m. at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia. Prayers will be offered at 8:30 p.m. by Sister Ann MacDonald. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Stephen Marsh at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 7th at 1:30 p.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.
