Obituary of Richard James Dixon
DIXON, Richard "Dick" James, - Surrounded by his family at St. Joseph's Hospice, Dick Dixon died on Monday, December 14, 2015 at the age of 82. Loving father of Diane Dixon & her husband Chris Vachon, Calgary and Paige Harborenko & her husband John, Thornbury. Dear grandfather of Hanna & Charmaine Dixon Vachon, Sophie, Jacob and Adam Harborenko. Cherished brother and best friend of Elizabeth Ranger, Sarnia. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Predeceased by his parents Mona & Harold Dixon and his son Stephen Dixon. Dick loved football, playing for many years when he was younger and he liked to play golf. Dick’s passion was his music, playing guitar and singing. He spent many years overseas entertaining our troops and then continued to entertain locally at the Drawbridge Inn. Cremation has taken place. Visitation at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Monday, December 21 from 2-3 p.m. A Celebration of Dick's life will be held in the McKenzie & Blundy Chapel immediately following the visitation at 3 p.m. Dick spent his last days in the peaceful surroundings of St. Joseph’s Hospice. To thank all those who were caring for him, please send memorial donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice, 475 N. Christina St., Sarnia, N7T 5W3.
