I was saddened to learn of the recent death of Michael (Mick) Bennett. His mother Delia was one of thirteen children of the late Michael and Margaret Cronin and he was a first cousin of mine. He was the eldest of all the first cousins and their are quite a number spanning 36 years up yo my youngest sister Helen Cronin (born 1965). My late father John worked with his sister Delia in the family Department Store called the "Bargain Stores" up to 1951. He ran the Menswear department before setting up his own store in 1951 on Oliver Plunkett Street, Cork. As dheis de, go raibh a Ainm.

Hi Karen
I was very saddened to here that Mike passed away.
I always enjoyed chatting with him when he came to see me at Dr. Farghers office, usually about your next travels. It was nice to wave to him when he walked the dog up and down Sylvan court as well.
I am very sorry for your loss.
Take care.
Shelly

Michael's life work was spent in the medical field helping others. He was an educated man but more than that, he was an intelligent man. He could walk and talk to anyone, regardless of their profession or education on their level. He was a modest man and never put on airs. He was the voice of reason and always worked toward a reasonable, workable solution to any of life's problems. I always rested easier knowing that he would look after my dear sister Karin, in sickness and in health. He will be missed. Michael, your life's work is now done and you deserve to rest in peace.
