Obituary of Dorothy Jean Norwood

"Well you know, I'm damn near 100!" NORWOOD, Dorothy Jean (nee Zink) (Haines) - It is with sadness but also peace that the family announces the passing of Dorothy at her home. For 99 years she lived life fully with all of its challenges and blessings. Her presence will be greatly missed, but her spirit will guide us always. Dorothy was the wife of the late Harry Haines, mother of Mary Lynne Shannon (Byram), Heather Haines, and Jane Riddell (Robert). She is also survived by her grandchildren Patrick Shannon, Christine Laur, Kim DiCocco, Robert Fisher, Jessica Riddell, Luke Riddell, Charles Riddell, 16 great-grandchildren, her sister Connie Beauchamp as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Vincent Norwood and was friend to his children Jim Norwood and Patricia Erickson. Thank you to the CCAC, VON, Hogan's Pharmacy, Corunna, Dr. Hall & Staff and all the friends and family who helped us care for Mom. Friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431. N. Christina St., Sarnia, on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Joseph's Church, Corunna on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at 11 a.m. Interment Lakeview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the VON, 1705 London Line, Sarnia, N7W 1B2, Inn of the Good Shepherd, 115 John St, Sarnia, N7T 2Z1 or charity of choice.
