Obituary of Ida Giovanna Fais

FAIS, Ida Giovanna - With her family by her side at Bluewater Health, Palliative Care, Ida Fais died on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at the age of 87. Beloved wife of the late Pietro Fais (2011). Loving mother of Toni McGuiness, Ohio, the late Dora Quinn (2011) & her husband Rick, Diane Cossa & her husband Giovanni and Tony Fais & his partner Liz Thuss, Sarnia. Loving mother-in-law of Melody Petch, Sarnia. Cherished Nonna of Luigina McCarthy & her husband Andrew, London, Raymond Cossa, London, Peter & Dylan Fais, Sarnia. Predeceased by her parents Cesare & Antionietta Braschi and her siblings Lillina, Cicita & Virgilio and their spouses. To Ida, family was everything. She lived for her children and grandchildren and the times they would spend together. Ida loved to cook as much as her family enjoyed eating her cooking. Her garden and flowers gave her great joy. She was very devoted to her faith and church, and was a past member of the CWL. Ida was committed to helping others and would often deliver pastry to local nursing homes. Friends were very important to Ida and she was caring to all. The family would like to thank Bluewater Health, all doctors involved, the entire fourth floor medical team, those incredible caring nurses and the aides for helping our family and our mother through a very difficult few months. We'd also like to express our appreciation to the palliative care team for assisting our mother and making her final days as comfortable as possible. Friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431. N. Christina St., Sarnia on Monday, September 5, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where Rosary will be offered at 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Steve Marsh at St. Benedict's Church on Tuesday, September 6 at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.
