TAVARES - With great sadness the family announces the passing of ILDA PACHECO TAVARES at her home in Sarnia on Friday, December 16, 2016, at the age of 89. Beloved and devoted wife of Jose Amorim Tavares (2004). Loving mother of Edwarda & her husband Steve, Windsor, and Joseph & his wife Sandy, Oakville, and Emanuel (1957). Dear grandmother of Anne, Christine, Liam and Aidan. Loving sister of Herondina, Margarida and Catarina, and sister-in-law Helen. Cherished aunt of many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Jose and Georgina, brothers Jose and Humberto. Visitation at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, Monday, December 19, 2016 from 7-9 p.m. where prayers will be offered at 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. David Johnston 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church. Interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.
