EAGLESON, Gordon Eugene - It is with great sadness that we announce that Gordon Eugene Eagleson died at Bluewater Health on Friday, January 27, 2017 at the age of 84. Beloved husband of the late Phyllis Frances (Lostell). Loving father of Erin and his friend Maria of Toronto, and Peter (Kathy) of Cambridge. Cherished grandfather of Matthew, Ryan and Lindsay of Cambridge. Dear brother of Grace Churcher (Jim) and Harold Eagleson (Barbara) of Sarnia and brother-in-law of Alexia Gladdy (late Percy) of Sarnia, and Maryanne Statton (Jack Yungblut) of London. Beloved uncle of several nieces and nephews. Gordon was a warm, easygoing, down-to-earth person which reflected his farm upbringing. As a Stationary Engineer for more than 30 years in the Sarnia area, Gordon began his career with Imperial Oil and ended with Vulcan Packaging. His mechanical aptitude served him well in his repair projects and tinkering with old cars. Gordon also enjoyed travelling, camping, music and comedy. Forever devoted to his wife and family, this gentle man was a loving, humble role model for the next generations. Gordon was a long-standing active member of his church. As someone who truly enjoyed people, Gordon will be remembered and missed by those who knew him. Gordon's family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Glenna Cuccarolo and the medical staff of the Bluewater Health ICU unit for their exemplary efforts and their attention to the personal needs of this patient. To join us in a Celebration of Gordon's life, friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the McKenzie & Blundy Chapel on Thursday, February 2nd at 11:00 a.m. Interment Grand Bend Cemetery, Thursday at 3:00 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 774 London Rd., Sarnia, N7T 4Y1 or St. Luke's United Church, 350 Indian Rd.
