We are saddened on the passing of Ron. We were stationed with him and Yvonne in Gander in the late 60's. Rom was a very funny man, always the life of the party. Ron was a great talker and storyteller - In fact, the only time that I remember him being quiet was when he suffered a collapsed lung and that was only for a short time! Our thoughts are with the family during this most difficult time.

To Jeannine, Michael, Lisa, Robert & Catherine,
Ron was a proud Life Member of the Canadian Forces Supplementary Radio (SUPRAD) System (CFSRS) Oldtimers Association. Our members were deeply saddened by the news of his passing. All those who knew and served with Ron in the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) will remember him for his engaging personality (hey, he was a Newfoundlander from Buchans!) and his pleasant smile. I first met Ron in the mid 1960's at the old Navy site in Gander, Newfoundland. In addition to being one of my first supervisors, he was also a good winger (friend). Ron's friends will forever cherish the memories of the good times that were shared during his 20 plus years in the Navy. Please know that as members of your extended military family, we will be keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.
