Obituary of Arthur Laverne Krick
KRICK, Arthur Laverne – With his family by his side at Marshall Gowland Manor, Arthur “Art” Krick died on Monday, April 2, 2018 at the age of 80. Beloved husband & best friend of Lestra for 61 years. Loving father of Susan Johnman, Bradley Krick & his wife Valerie and Tracey Bolzon & her husband Enzo. Cherished gramps to Jessica & Kyle Johnman, Allysa & Jeremy Bolzon and Matthew & James Krick. Dear brother of Shirley McLelland and Janet & Bill Hunter. Brother-in-law of Florence Myers and Patricia Pierce. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Albert & Fern Elsie Krick and several brothers and sisters-in-law. Art spent over 30 years in the insurance business. He had an adventurous spirit, taking life as it came with a smile on his face and laughter in his heart. Art’s positive and optimistic attitude allowed him to see the best in others; his spirit was contagious. He was a very spiritual man, a devoted Catholic and served many years with the Knights of Columbus. He was a very community minded individual giving back in so many ways. He was a Lions member since 1965. Art was instrumental in chartering many new Lions clubs throughout Ontario. Among his many passions he loved gardening, golf, travelling, country music and cars. He was an avid sports fan, loved hockey and baseball. “Go Dodgers and Leafs.” Art was a devoted family man. The love & life he shared with Lestra was inspirational and eternal. He gave his children and grandchildren the gifts of love, laughter, guidance and modeled how to embrace life’s challenges “Your attitude determines your altitude” He will be forever missed but lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched. Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431. N. Christina St., Sarnia on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. where prayers will be offered at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Matthew Sobierajski at St. Benedict’s Church on Friday, April 6th at 10:00 a.m. Cremation has taken place. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Marshall Gowland Manor for their compassion and care of Art for many years.
