Obituary of Rufina de Jesus Almeida Dias
DIAS, RUFINA de JESUS - At Bluewater Health on Thursday, December 27, 2018, Rufina died peacefully with family by her side at the age of 84. Beloved wife of the late Armando (2011). Loving mother of Maria (Colin) Fairbairn, late Helder Dias (2016), Fatima (Manuel) Mendonca and Suzanna Dias. Proud grandmother of Niel Fairbairn (Jess), Trevor Dias and Nicholas Dias (Erika), Cassandra Michetti (Ryan), Amanda Johnson (Dave), Justine Petronski (Tate) and Ryan Mendonca (Marie); and great-grandmother of Hudson & Landon Michetti, Madden, Hadley & Lane Johnson and Ivy & Eli Petronski. Dear sister of Emilia (Agustinho) Tavares. Also survived by family in Portugal. Predeceased by her parents Eugenia & Antonio de Almedia and her siblings; Maria Rodrigues, Manuel de Almeida, Celestino de Almeida. Rufina was the ultimate mother. She spent her life caring for her family. Rufina loved life and she filled her days feeding the birds, sewing, cooking and spending time in her garden. Friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Sunday, December 30, 2018 from 7-9 p.m. where prayers will be offered at 8:45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church, Sarnia on Monday, December 31st at 10:00 a.m. Interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.
