Obituary of Louis Gyurky

Gyurky, Louis - Peacefully with family by his side on January 15^th, 2019, Louis passed away at Bluewater Health in Sarnia at the age of 90.  Beloved husband of Irene for 66 years.  Father to Leslie (predeceased 1993); Ann (Dave) Wright; Steve (Lynda) Gyurky and Loretta (Gaston) Lauzon.  Grandfather to Angela (Robert) Clouse; Emily (Derek) Lennstrom; Erica (Aaron) Fry; Daniel (Naomi) Gyurky; Michael Lauzon and Robert Lauzon. Great grandfather to 7. Louis came to Canada as a refugee from Hungary in 1956 with his wife and 3 children.  As a chemist, he worked in the explosives division for C.I.L. in McMasterville Quebec.  After moving to Petrolia in 1966, while employed with Fiberglass Ltd., Sarnia, he purchased the Blue Castle Tavern in Petrolia. Louis and Irene operated the restaurant for 20 years where Louis enjoyed socializing with patrons and friends before selling the business and retiring in 1986. Heartfelt thanks go out to Bluewater Health Sarnia doctors, nurses and staff in the London Wing for their care and compassion during his final days. Cremation has taken place, a private family celebration of Louis’s life will be held on Saturday Jan 19^th.
