Antonetta Mallozzi

December 23, 1928 – February 9, 2019

Peacefully, with her family by her side, on Saturday, February 9, 2019, ANTONETTA MALLOZZI passed away at the age of 90.  Beloved wife of the late Vincenzo. Loving mother of Josie Savo (Sisto), Phyllis Doucette (Bob) and Frances Vettese (Bruno).  Proud Nonna of Laurianne Nelson (Kurtis), Stefanie Savo, Rob Doucette (Shantelle), Daniella and Adrian Vettese. Adoring bis-Nonna of Oliver and Conner Nelson.  Survived by her beloved sister, Eva Casetta. Special aunt of Ida Polidoro, Teresa DiMambro (Giuseppe), of Italy, as well as Joe Mallozzi (Marisa), Lori Mallozzi, Mario Cassetta (Brigitte) and Maria Bazkur.  Great aunt to several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Vincenza and Filippo D’Adamo, parents-in-law Giuseppe and Loretta Mallozzi, brothers-in-law Americo (late Ida) Mallozzi, Pasquale Mallozzi and sister-in-law Francesca (late Calvino) Polidoro. 

Antonetta was born and raised in Castelforte, Italy.  She married in 1950 and travelled, with her first born, to start a new life with her husband in Canada in 1953.  Antonetta was a very selfless woman, always thinking of family first. Spending quality time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her great joy.  She was happiest when her home was filled with family, and so much love. She also enjoyed sewing, working in her vegetable garden, tending to her beautiful flowers, travelling with the family and cooking.  She took great pleasure in chatting endlessly on the phone to family and friends from near and far, as well as visiting with her neighbours for “coffee time”. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

We are forever grateful to her wonderful doctors, Dr. Yoshida, Dr. Ghante and Dr. Lilly, as well as the staff of the various home care service agencies for their care and support.

Visitation at McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
