Our families relationship with the gentle giant Dutchman goes way back to when Cor worked for Boersma Real Estate and he sold my parents their first house in Sarnia. Cor became a fixture at family celebrations because my parents Helen and Joe introduced Cor to the lovely childhood friend of my Dad, Ann Yarkovsky Fisher. That event marked the beginning of Ann and Cor's wonderful life together. Cor always had a joke, a twinkle in his eye and a song in his heart. We are all richer for having had Cor in our lives. He was loved by many and will be missed by all. We will carry all the wonderful memories with us on our journey. For some reason I have a picture in my mind of Cor, Auntie Ann, my Mom and Dad the men in bell bottomed leisure suits, sideburns that were just a little too long and the ladies looking fly on their way to an evening out at the Capri lounge or Huey's Junkyard. Godspeed Cor <3

My heart goes out to Ann and Deb for the passing of Uncle Cor .
I will truly miss the man i’ve known my entire life and thought of him as no one but a truly kind, soft hearted and wonderful human being who was and always will be the uncle I have called him since I was little. He was the best friend of my parents Al and Betty Luckins and was till dad’s passing in January/ 2019.
He came to both their funerals even though I knew he was not feeling well.
Ann is an amazing woman for how she took care of him and was always by his side. Thank you Ann, you are an angel.. I loved you from the moment I met you because I knew he loved you too! Uncle Cor, you are with Mom and Dad and May you all be happy together!

Anne & Family, on behalf of Strangway Recreation Centre I would like to extend our deepest condolences on the recent passing of Cor. He will be truly missed here. He will missed for his big smile, quirky jokes, endless teasing and of course his immeasurable support towards the Strangway Centre. He devoted endless volunteer hours to ensure that this centre was welcoming, fun filled and entertaining. Our thoughts are with you during this very difficult time.

Very sorry for your loss. I knew Cor through the Strangway and the Hobby Shop
When Cor was there, he was always whistling a variety of tunes. I always enjoyed his humour. He is missed.

Cor was a big Blue Jays fan, and I remember being at a game with him in the early 90s when the Jays were pulling 50,000 fans a night. Here's this guy from Sarnia strutting around like he owns the Skydome, really in his element. Three separate groups of people from Sarnia recognize him and stop him to say 'Hi'. He's loving the spectacle, chatting to everyone - people around us, ushers, usherettes. Off to the Legion after the game for beers and pool. That was him - lots of fun! Thanks Cor, for all the good times, and being a great father-in-law, Opa, and friend! Love Greg
