Obituary of Mabel Heartwell

HEARTWELL, Mabel – With her family by her side, Mabel Heartwell died peacefully at Chartwell Royal Oak Long Term Care in Kingsville, ON, on Thursday, September 19, 2019, at the age of 95.  Beloved wife of the late Robert John Heartwell (2005).   Loving mother of Barbara & her husband Keith, Bill & his husband Ed, and Rob & his wife Tish. Cherished grandmother  of Justine, Alexis, Jeffery and Joey. Proud great-grandmother of Emerson & Winston. Predeceased by her parents William & Mabel Betts and her sister Kathleen Watts.  Mabel & her husband Bob were the owners of the Sarnia Ice Company Limited from 1964 to 1980 and sold the business in favour of an early retirement.  Long time member of the Sarnia Yacht Club, Sarnia Golf and Curling Club and Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority. Mabel was an avid sailor, curler and consummate hostess.  She was the hostess with the mostest who always had a candy in her purse for her grandchildren.  Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 from 1 – 3 p.m. where words of remembrance will be offered by the family at 3 p.m. Cremation to follow.  As an expression of sympathy friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Unit 150-633 Colborne St., London, ON N6B 2V3 or the Breast Cancer Society, 420 East St., Sarnia, N7T 6Y5.  Messages of condolence and memories may be left at www.mckenzieblundy.com
