Obituary of George Albert Rogers
ROGERS, George Albert. Peacefully on November 4, 2019 at Vision Nursing Home in his 80th year. Son of the late Oscar and Nora (Wallace) Rogers of Sulphide, ON. Predeceased by his loving wife Judy (Evans) Rogers and his first wife Donna (Reid) in 1963. Deeply missed by his children, Christine Sonier (Paul), Tammy Rogers, Trent Rogers and Terri Domingue (Stan Fletcher), all of Sarnia. Grandfather of Jocelyn, Sarah, Joshua, Tanya, Michline, Taylor, Miranda and Caitlin. Great-grandfather of Maddison, Macelynn, Blake, Montgomery, Vaida, Jayden, Trey, Marcus and Darreo. Predeceased by his siblings Jimmy, Dorothy, Marion, Jack and Patricia. Survived by his siblings Barbara (Allen) Thompson, Melvin (Betty) Rogers, Mavis (Stanley) Parkinson and David Rogers (Brenda Foubister). A long-time employee of Bulk Carriers, George started his career with Allied Chemical in Sulphide, ON and later Corunna, ON. George was a lifelong competitive 10-pin league bowler with many 300 games. He was also an avid golfer and outdoorsman. George was a self-taught musician, proficient on guitar, banjo and harmonica with a fine singing voice. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life with family and friends will be held on Sunday Nov. 24th at the Moose Lodge Sarnia (874 Phillip St.) from 2-6.
