Obituary of Rosemary Elizabeth Catherine Courtis

COURTIS (Joyce) Rosemary Elizabeth Catherine – Peacefully with her family by her side, Rosemary Courtis died on Friday, November 29, 2019 at Afton Park at the age of 78.  Beloved wife of late Maurice Joyce and the late Cameron Courtis.  Loving mother of Debbie Joyce, Steven (Pat) Joyce, Rick (Angela) Joyce, Lisa Joyce, and Cathy (Steve) Lyon.  She will be missed by Meaghan Roberts who always thought of Rosemary as her second mother. Cherished nana of Graham, Aaron, Nick, Justin, Kody, Brooklynn, Jack and Alex.  Great-grandmother of Kaileigh Rose and Lydia Rose.  Dear sister of Betty Grant, Karen Last, Joyce Boschman, Dolores Smith, Al Cooper, Jake Cooper, Jack (Sally) Cooper, Jim (Patty) Cooper and Larry Cooper.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by, her parents Stanley & Mildred Cooper, brothers Bill, Doug, Tom, Bob, Don and Stan Cooper and her granddaughter Kayleigh Lyon.  Rosemary’s passion was her family.  Spending time with her grandchildren gave her great joy.  She was a strong, loving woman who gave to others before herself. She was a meticulous housekeeper and loved to spend her free time babysitting.  Rosemary enjoyed spending time with her sisters. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 1, 2019 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Church on Monday at 10 a.m. Interment at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.
