Deep condolences to the Hogg Family. Had the pleasure of knowing Davie and playing with him through Bluewater soccer in the early eighties. Was an honor to play many games and practice sessions with such a skillful player, kind man and fellow Scot. Davie liked to play on the wing and dribble down the touchline. I recall one occasion where I naively, thinking I was giving him help, ran down the touchline for a through ball. He blasted me as I was actually filling the space where he wanted to dribble, now clogged by me and a following defender. He calmly explained this to me afterwards with a wry smile. To this day I've never overlapped a winger as a result. So sorry to hear the news of Davie's passing. Have only fond memoires of some great times.

My sincere condolences to the Hogg family. I grew up in Sarnia as a kid playing soccer. This is where I met Davie. I knew of Davie before hand because he played for the team of the city I was born in (Dumbarton, Scotland). I think he knew that also since he was instrumental as a mentor for me and my brother John honing our playing skills coming through the Bluewater Soccer system. I remember Davie being so kind and helpful at practices and during games. His skill level was well above what we were used to playing with at the time and this definitely was an inspiration for me moving forward in the game.
Although I moved away from Sarnia, Davie has been a really good friend to my Dad over the years.
Thanks Davie for the great memories.
You will be missed.

Hogg Family;
My sincerest condolences to Tracey and family on the death of Davie. I knew Davie through football starting with the Imperial Oil league and the Sarnia Industrial league, He was highly skilled with very quick feet and an equally quick wry smile. I hadn't seen Davie for years but the first time I showed up to play "walking" soccer I heard a familiar voice call out my name. We had a great time playing for the joy of the game in a non-competitive atmosphere. He never lost his deft touch of the ball and his sense of humour.
We will miss you greatly Davie. Rest in peace good man.
