I am now 63 years old, but I remember Gary from one year he coached me in hockey. He was very positive in the way he treated us. I happened to be very good on that team and he gave us big trophies at the end of the year for MVP etc and 2 or 3 of us went down to see a Wings game in Detroit at the old Olympia. We were literally sitting in the last row at the end - but it was great and I'll bet it was expensive for him to do that. We had a riot. I also recall he bought us purple team jackets with wild haired player on the crest. Pretty special treatment for a house league team.
Put simply, I still remember it!
