Justin meant so much to the tennis community in Sarnia. I miss our early mornings and late evenings ripping the cover off the ball. He was the purist of ball strikers and had a ton of passion for the sport. He was always generous with his time, and I’ll be forever grateful for our opportunities to push each other to be the best possible competitors. Over the years I grew to appreciate of his warm, welcoming nature and goofy flair on and off the court. His passing is a tremendous loss. My heart aches for him and the Bourassa family. I deeply regret that we won’t have an opportunity to try to reminisce and relive some of those glory days from the past... Rest easy, brother.

I admire your collective strengths and resolve to honour the legacy of your most cherished son and brother. I pray for your family’s healing. Above all , I pray that his death will provoke the much needed change in police enforcement so that no other family will have to deal with this pain.

On behalf of myself and the board of TENNIS FOR KIDS we wish to extend our heartfelt sympathies to the Bourassa family. When I started T4K almost 4 years ago Justin was the first one to jump on board in what has turned out to be a highly successful program in which Justin had a sigificant role as our Head Instructor. My fondest memory is when Justin and I would set out on a winters morning. to do a T4K clinic at one of the local elementary schools. Justin had the gift of creating joy in a child which is a very special accomplishment. Sincerely yours Brian Clarke Director TENNIS FOR KIDS. P.S. When I think of Justin I think of a good natured young man. I got to meet and know Justin during college and I remember that he would often move around in classes and catch up with everyone. This loss is very shocking and I think it brings lots of deep hurt to many people. I share sadness for all of his family and friends that are and will be missing Justin. This really is a very sad outcome of whatever happened and I pray that answers and healing will be found and brought to the family and his friends. Hopefully he will rest in so much peace.

I started playing tennis at the Sarnia Tennis club about five years ago. Within those five years, I crossed paths with Justin regularly. He gave me tennis lessons, strung my racket, and encouraged me to push myself by playing with some of the more elite junior players. It was always a positive experience to be in his presence.
Justin was inclusive and welcoming to everyone. I’d always be happy to see him around the club. He would generously share his tennis knowledge with me. And although our conversations mainly focused on tennis, I always felt like I was talking to Justin on a deeper level, as a friend. I imagine this must be how everyone felt when speaking with Justin. He treated everyone at the Sarnia Tennis Club as a friend.
Justin impacted so many people through his coaching, mentoring, and friendship. I feel privileged to have been one of those people. The love for tennis and the care he brought to the Sarnia Tennis Club are irreplaceable.
My deepest condolences to the Bourassa family. Thank you for raising such an amazing young man. Your son and brother had an impact on me, as I’m sure he did to anyone that had the privilege of knowing him.

We are deeply saddened to hear about Justin's passing. Justin played an integral role in growing our daughter Abby's interest in tennis at a young age. He regularly practiced with Abby and his interest and excitement to be with her on the court was so genuine. There is no question that Abby's passion for tennis was rooted in the time Justin spent with her. We cannot say enough about what a good soul Justin was. My husband Andy , and I were very sad and sorry to hear the news about Justin. We met Justin in 2018 when we moved back to the Sarnia area. We both went to see him for regular massages and he was an EXCELLENT therapist. He often spoke about fitness and tennis and we chatted about work outs. We also spoke about travel and he mentioned all the travel that his parents did, in particular his Dad's travels.
Justin will be missed by many, many people. Our prayers of sympathy are for all of you including Justin. May his spirit happily soar in peace and love.
