To Uncle Phil's family,
We had minimal contact with Uncle Phil until 2017 when he came to Brandon to attend our Father's (Paul's) funeral. Since then we have had regular contact with him through frequent emails and phone calls. These were always so interesting and informative as he had a great knowledge of history and family and was able to convey this with alot of thought and humor. We will miss him as he had become an important part of our lives.
Our sincerest sympathy,
Garry & Linda McIntosh

This picture shows Uncle Phil with his parents as a very young child in Manitoba. Possibly the first picture ever taken of him and he’s unmistakable in it. My dad Mel is behind them. I though it appropriate to post this picture as Uncle Phil was an enthusiastic family historian. He always impressed me with his depth of knowledge of family and relatives. He had an amazing memory for these things and felt it important to pass them along. He made a trip to the Ukraine in 1994 to visit the hometowns of his parents. I still have a copy of the video! I will really miss talking with him and sharing family information we both loved to discuss. Deepest condolences to the family from Irv and Lillian Hrytsak.
