Obituary of Laurie Ellen Blackmore

BLACKMORE, Laurie Ellen – Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Laurie Blackmore died on Friday, September 9, 2022.  Beloved wife of Jim Blackmore for 33 yrs.  Loving step-mother of Jen Blackmore (Matt).  Cherished grandmother of Nick & Nathan.  Dear sister of Alan VanCowenberg (Linda), Sarnia and Larry VanCowenberg, Sarnia.  Sister-in-law of Mary Lou Campbell (Pat), Sarnia.  Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.  Predeceased by her parents Homer & Helen VanCowenberg and her sister Sue Slaughter and sister-in-law Carol.

Laurie worked for 15 years at Canadian Tire before her marriage to Jim.  She liked to play cards, join in the potlucks in the apartment building, dine out and take long walks. Laurie will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Cremation has taken place.  A private graveside service will be held at Lakeview Cemetery.
