Obituary of Linda Iacobelli
Peacefully surrounded by her family at Bluewater Health, following a very brief illness, Violanda “Linda” Iacobelli, on December 22, 2022 at the age of 70. She was the cherished wife of the late Orlando Iacobelli; the most wonderful mother of Christina Iacobelli (Andy Erjavec), Sandra Iacobelli (Sonny Ingram) and Domenic Iacobelli (Jennifer Cooper); and the adored Nonna of Adriana Iacobelli, Matteo Erjavec, Luciano Iacobelli and Henry Ingram. She was loved by her sisters, Ena Gottschalk, Maria (Joseph) Camilleri and Nancy (Frank) Sanzone, and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Maria (late Leonello) Iacobelli, Anna (late Pasquale) DeCarolis, Adelaide (late Augusto) Greco, Onoria (late Onorio) Iacobelli, late Iolanda (late Giovanni) DeCarolis and Maria and Romano Esposito. She was predeceased by her parents, Alberto and Rita Vergilio, and her father and mother-in-law Erminio and Vittoria Iacobelli. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and a wide circle of cherished friends, in particular her dear friend Jim Myers.
Linda was born in Vicalvi, Italy, and moved with her parents at the age of one to Detroit, Michigan. She later worked for the Federal Reserve Bank in Detroit, and delighted in using her salary to buy treats for her younger sisters. In 1974, she eloped with her beloved Orlando, a thrill that she always enjoyed recalling to her three children. She loved her kids with all of her heart, guiding them through happy times and rough waters. Her warmth, grace and sparkle will be forever missed by all who knew her.
The family expresses their deep gratitude to the nurses, doctors and staff of the ICU at Bluewater Health, with special thanks to Jenn, Karen and Mark, who cared for and comforted Linda during her brief time there.
