We where just informed this morning from my niece that our Aunt Gerty as we called her passed away March 2nd 2023. I was sad to hear of her passing. She was such an amazing person and always a lady and so kind to all of us 5 kids in my family. My Dad Marcel Mayer(Maille) & Tony Paiement where first cousins. Aunt Gerty & Uncle Tony where my God parents when I was Baptised with my twin sister December 18th 1955. My wife and I stopped over for a visit at her home around the summer of 2021 when she was 99 years young, she was surprised to see me as it was a long time since we seen one another, she always called me little John! It was great to see her as we spent about 2hrs talking and catching up on the past years since we last talked which was a long time. She informed me during our conversation that her goal was to make it to celebrate her 100th birthday well she made it to 101 amazing! She was so good to me growing as I was their God child, she always went out of her way to buy me the perfect gift for Christmas. I have so many great memories of them both growing up as a kid, when we would go over for a Sunday visit or swim in the pool when they owned an operated the Fauld’s Motel on the Golden Mile back in the mid 60s. In the end all we have are the memories. Rest in peace you were an amazing person you earned your wings! Love Little John, my wife Brenda & the Mayer family.

Sending our condolences to the Paiement family. My parents Raymond and Rolande Leveille enjoyed Gertie's visits with her daughters when they came to New Liskeard. Dad always like to tease them and all would have a good laugh. Sending prayers during this difficult time.

So sorry to hear of your beautiful mom’s passing, Dianne. To all of the lovely people in the Paiement family, I’m sure it is such a consolation that dearest Gerty loved life to the fullest. Mrs Paiement will be missed by everyone who has had the pleasure of knowing her.

Heartfelt condoleances to the Paiment family! Madame Paiment, "pepere"Paiment & "kids" were one of the wonderful families we met when we first moved to Sarnia in 1963!
Our parents were great friends & we have so many memories of good times. Your Mom had the most infectious laugh, always happy to see us.
Her good long life makes it all the more difficult to say goodbye - she truly was the matriarch & loved her family abundantly. So very sad for the loss of your precious Mom /grandma/Mimi. Love & prayers from the Bergeron's
