Obituary of Mary Jo Edith Odrcich
ODRCICH. Mary Jo Edith (nee Lamb) – Peacefully with her family by her side, Mary Jo passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Bluewater Health, Palliative Care at the age of 78. Beloved wife of John Odrcich for 53 yrs. Loving mother of Mark Odrcich ( Kirsten Vasey) and Peter Odrcich (Jessica Salts). Cherished grandmother of Evan, Eric and Claire. Dear sister of Joseph Lamb (Cathy), Patrick Lamb (Jenny) Edith Laflamme (late Ron). Sister-in-law of Steve Odrcich (Mandy). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Joseph & Etta Lamb and sister-in-law Mary Zdelar (George).
Mary Jo loved children. She worked for the St. Clair Catholic School Board as a primary education specialist teaching junior kindergarten to grade 8 and later becoming a vice principal. Mary Jo enjoyed doing crafts, especially card making. She loved her cat Wally who would sleep until he heard the garage door open and get up and go to the door to greet her. She was an avid Blue Jays fan and also enjoyed watching curling. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Tzemos, Cardiologist at the University Hospital, London for going over and above in his care for Mary Jo, the Bluewater Health Palliative Care team and the V.O.N PSWs expecially Jill for their compassion and excellent care of Mary Jo.
Visitation will be held at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 Christina St. N. on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, from 1:30 to 3:30. The Liturgy of the Word Service will follow in the chapel at 3:30p.m. Cremation will follow and interment at Resurrection Cemetery will be held at a later date.
