Obituary of Branko Marinkovic
MARINKOVIC, Branko – Surrounded by his loving family at Bluewater Health, Branko Marinkovic passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at the age of 89. Beloved husband of Ida Marinkovic (nee Scarpelli). Loving father of Rosemarie Marinkovic, Sarnia, Daniel Marinkovic, London and Mariano Markinkovic & his wife Angela, Chicago. Cherished grandfather of Nikola and Stella Marinkovic . Dear brother of Marinko, Gospa, Winka and Tonka of Bosnia. Brother-in-law of Aldo, Mario (Linda), Isadore, Edda, Frank (Helene). Mary and Tony Scarpelli. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Morjan & Stana Marinkovic and his brother Trisho and brother-in-law Gino Scarpelli.
Prior to immigrating to Canada in 1953, Branko served in the military. Throughout his career he was a machinist /tool and die maker. He was an accomplished metal craftsman and he enjoyed spending his time making fine metal artifacts which will be treasured by friends and family. He enjoyed his garden and sharing fruits from his plants with family and friends. Loved dearly by all who knew him, Branko touched many through his gentle manner, and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
The family would like to thank Dr. Iwala, Dr. Shetty, Dr. Boudreau and nurses and PSWs on the Medical Telemetry Floor of Bluewater Health.
Visitation will be held at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431Christina St. N. on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, from 7 – 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Thursday, July 27th at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Resurrection Mausoleum.
