Obituary of Ronald Savage

SAVAGE, Ronald – Ronald passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Bluewater Health on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at the age of 83. Beloved husband of Josephine (Buchanan). Dear father of Tony (Sylvie), Steve (Gisele) and Mike (Joyce). Loving Grampa of Julie Skillas (Greg), Jason Savage (Kim), Corey and Vanessa Savage (Donny), Kyle and Logan Savage. Great-grampa of Ellie Savage, Caiden and Easton Davison, Emmeline and Chloe Skillas. Brother-in-law of Bernadette Savage (late Allan), Charlie Oxley (Joan) and Terry Buchanan (Geeta) and their families and the late Marie Buchanan. Also fondly remembered by Munah Agali and her sons Zane and Kaima as well as many nieces and nephews in Canada and England. Predeceased by parents Joseph and Evelyn Savage and by 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Ron was a Process Operations instructor at Lambton College where he made many friends and helped many of his students get jobs. He was very involved in Sacred Heart Church, Cursillo, Community Living and St. Vincent de Paul. Ron played rugby in England and carried his love for the sport to Sarnia. He played for the Sarnia Saints Rugby team and then helped coach at the high school level. Ron was always known for his sense of humour, love, laughter and life. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at 11 a.m. Private entombment of ashes to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.  As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, 106 N.
