My Condolances to all of Des's Family
My friendship With Des started when he became a Imperial Oil Research employee 19??. As time went by we started playing golf
and a little bit of tennis with the Majewski brothers and their friends. Later we tried rabbit hunting and then duck hunting when I got
a 14 foot boat and motor..Any time we got some game Des was proud to hand them over to his Dad to clean for future suppers.
Many years I invited Des to hunt with the P & T Deer Hunt Club but company work came first in the fall.. Finally deer vacation came
from 2008 to 2012. On last year Des was proud to see his son Jason get a 7 point buck.
Over the years after his university computer training came in handy for me because of the many problems I had.with viruses and other
software. We also exchanged burned video movies on discs.
On the last house he built we did a lot of repairs and upgrades. The one thing we could not solve was how the occasional bat got into
the house.. It was his problem to catch it and through it out. The last bat was never going to come back.. Des laid a lot of oak
floors upstairs and downstairs. So then I decided to do the same with his help and my brother on the main floor..
Most of the time I help him move furniture also deliver furniture he buys and many other things that would not fit into his car..One of
his cars was rated as a recycle to the junk yard . The rear disc brakes were locked. With lots of hammering and words we got the
wheels rolling.. The final day the recyle car was ready for junk . I went ahead first and waited one hour. No Des. I did not find him
and went back and waited some more. Finally he arrived. I said were the hell have you been. He said it took him time to go to a
garage and get a wrench to tighten the lug nuts on the last wheel we put on. Thankfully another driver warned him that there a
problem with rear wheel.
Our last project was reroofing the two bay windows in the front of the house. This took a while because of the awkward body
positions I had .. Des injured one of his shins and the last bay roof took a while. So now it is done.
We had lots of fun and I am sorry to see him pass away too soon. GOD BLESS REST IN PEASE DES
