Obituary of Mary Makuch
MAKUCH, Mary – Mary passed away with her loving family by her side at St. Joseph’s Hospice on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at the age of 82. Beloved wife of David. Dear mother of the late Maria Bandura (Patrick), Michael Makuch (Natalie), Patricia Makuch (Yvan Latour), Paul Makuch (Therese), Steven Makuch (Julie) and Christine Simpson (John). Grandmother of Tim, Lesia Lacroix (Curtis), Zachary and Catherine Bandura, Roman and Andrew Makuch ,Katherine and William Simpson and Charlotte Makuch. Sister of Ann Musey (late Zenon). Predeceased by parents Dimitro & Anastasia Washeczko and sister Mildred. Mary was a Master Gardener, and she took pride in taking her garden produce to make meals for family and friends. Mary was very active in the community. For many years she was the president of St. George’s Ukrainian Catholic Women’s League, was a founding member of the Sarnia Lambton Multicultural Society and served on the board of the Sarnia Lambton Housing Authority. Mary also was the coordinator of the Lambton County Heart & Stroke Door to Door fundraising campaign for many years.
Visitation at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. with Panakhyda at 7:30 p.m. Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 24, 2023 at 10 a.m. at St. George’s Ukrainian Catholic Church,
