Obituary of Jeremy Christopher Edward Mouland
Born in Cornwall, England at the end of World War II, the youngest of three children to Henry and Barbara Mouland. Throughout his childhood Jeremy lived in Kent and Shrewsbury before settling in Cheshire where he married Helen and became girl dad to their daughters, Louisa and Annabel.
In 1976, the family of four plus two dogs immigrated to Ontario, Canada. They spent their first two years in the country in Port Elgin before settling in Sarnia in 1978 where he worked for 30 years in process operations with Shell/Basell.
Jeremy was a man of action his whole life! As well as hiking, motorcycling, kayaking, running and flying kites, he also ran two full marathons and was President of the Sarnia Underwater Club from 1995 to 2001. His talent for stonemasonry afforded him the opportunity to donate his time to church and community projects. Time spent traveling, family trips and concerts were his most favourite pastimes and he will be sorely missed by his wife of 56 years Helen, daughters Louisa (Kevin) and Annabel. He was the best grandpa ever to Kirsten, Alex, Simon, Ruby and Rosie.
He was a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews, and true friend to many. He is predeceased by his parents, brother John (Rosemary) and sister Jennifer (Clive). His family would like to thank the staff of the Oncology Department at Bluewater Health, the Palliative Care Team at St. Joseph’s Hospice, and friends who have been so supportive throughout Jeremy’s journey.
A life well lived by a man well loved.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 Christina St.N., Sarnia on Friday December 15, 2023, from 6 – 8 p.m. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at Queen of Peace Church on Saturday, December 16th at 11 am. Private family interment will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice, 475 Christina St. N., Sarnia, N7T 5W8.
